Support for Researchers 

The Scientific Coordination Unit supports scientists at the IIMCB in maintaining high standards of integrity and transparency in research, in accordance with legal regulations and best practices.

Our main responsibilities include:

  • Advising on open science practices, in line with the guidelines of research funding agencies.
  • Updating and disseminating the scientific output of researchers from the IIMCB (website and PBN).
  • Coordinating research data management.
  • Providing consultations on ethical issues in grant applications and reports.
  • Supporting the acquisition of necessary permits for conducting research, including approvals for contained use of GMOs and consents from Local Ethics Committee.
  • Monitoring the use of laboratory animals in scientific research conducted at the Institute.
  • Managing an e-learning training that prepares English-speaking researchers employed in Poland to conduct research involving animals.
  • Preparing and submitting applications for research infrastructure.
  • Institutional reporting and coordinating preparations for the evaluation of IIMCB’s scientific activity.
  • Documenting the societal impact of research projects.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of applications for individual and team awards.

The SCU team is composed of professionals with hands-on research experience in the biological sciences, which allows us to effectively address the specific needs of our scientists. Grounded in both national and international regulations, we provide practical support and expert advice to the researchers, jointly fostering scientific excellence at the IIMCB.
